Bob Dietzel, founder and Managing Partner of KMRD Partners is scheduled to deliver a presentation to the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors on Negligent Entrustment exposures related to the authorization of use of vehicles while on company business.
What if an unscheduled event suddenly seizes control of your business?
Negligent Entrustment arises when you or your company provides a dangerous instrument to another party and they cause damage or bodily harm to others or themselves. Your business is at risk every time an employee uses a vehicle on company business when you know or should know that the driver intends or is likely to drive the vehicle in a manner that creates an unreasonable risk of harm. This exposure is not limited to employee use of company vehicles, but extends to use of a personal vehicle when being used for business .
